ABOUT US

Our School opened in August 2005. Students came to East Lake from Columbia, Bonneville and Riverdale Elementary Schools. The school is a prototype two-story building based on the new district's blueprint. Due to rapid growth in the area, the school opened with more students than origanally expected. Our enrollment has exceeded the expectations and for this very reason, 9 portables classrooms were added to accomodate the growth.

Our school is being an "A" school for three consecutive years, based on the Florida school grading system. Our student population reflects the diversity of our community. Fifty five percent of the students are Caucasian, Twenty seven percent Hispanic, nine percent African-American, five percent Asian and four percent are classified as Other. One of the most important things that makes East Lake's a a truly wonderful environment in which to grow is the community of skilled and dedicated Teachers and Staff working to lay the foundation for a bright future for every child.
